Fictional Interview

Interviewer:Radio Station

Guest: Kanye West

RS: Hello and welcome to the one and only Mr. Kanye west!! How are you doing my man?
KW: All good, very happy to be talking to you guys today.
RS: Kanye, There's been a lot of questions being thrown today at modern day artists and it somewhat seems to be negative, A lot of people tend to wonder, And i'm asking you this as a modern day artist..
KW:Yea
RS:.. They tend to ask what do musicians talk about in their songs? Or what's the point of certain songs.
KW: I can't speak for every artist, But i can certainly speak on rappers, Or at least speak for myself. Music nowadays isn't what it is suppose to represent. We got some artists that just be singing songs about their hair or about their ex partners, I ain't about that. Music has a philosophy that we gotta respect, If Kanye respect it everybody respect it. If Ye follows the philosophy everybody gotta follow it.
RS:You talk about the philosophy  of music and how everyone should follow it.. But what makes you different Kanye, You always say that you're not like the rest.
KW: Yea, I'm better than the rest.
RS:  Haha, Come on Kanye tell us
KW:I think it's.. I think it's the upbringing, I mean i know that if my mom never gave me the confidence or never told me the things that she did, I wouldn't be here right now, And i think thats what makes a rapper or any celebrity successful. Do you really think a ***** from Chicago would be winning 21 Vma's? Or did you ever think a white guy would be deemed as one of the most successful rappers in the world?
RS:Eminem?
KW:He's an example. You gotta believe that you can, I think.. Actually let me rephrase that for you, I know that Kanye is the best of all time. I know that my music is the most influential of all time.
RS: So do you think that someone's childhood plays a big part in the way their music is? Because..Just tell us what is Kanye's definition of music?
KW: Music is Music. Music doesn't necessarily mean something, You don't have to be black to rap, You don't have to be white to sing pop. You don't have to be a redneck to sing country. Just because my ancestors were slaves, Doesn't mean i now have a "right" to rap. However what gives me the right to rap is my creativity. My vision, My handwork. I got Chicago tribune  telling the world; Kanye doesn't give anything back to Chicago. If anything, Ive give everything back. Inspiration, Role-Model. Songs based on my hometown. Where i grew up in, Where i was raised, Sharing my story through music. Music is really just music.
RS: In your new album "The Life Of Pablo" you have made some headlines, Because well people tend to say your new way of producing the music isn't the same as well I'm using the term that is mentioned "Old Kanye"
KW: I had a song about the whole old vs new Kanye but i mean, A lot of music is based on current events in the world. Right? i mean we have some artist who wait for major events. And some think "S*** here comes my next album" So my music didn't change, No. It's just so much as happened to music over the past 5-8 years that new beats flow in, New ideas come alive, New artist are involved, Music is always changing but the philosophy  of what music should stand for is always the same.
RS: You tend to always say that you're the most influential artist, Can you elaborate on that claim?
KW:My music isn't based on what the modern day trend is, It's more about the way our society is killing the creative and imaginative minds like myself. We have to empower the youth. Give them the resources to see the world. Imagine. Create. Be that Pablo Picasso. Be that Kanye West. I've not only given my hometown advice. Role model, Idol, Advice. That's what kanye does. Writes music about the imagination, How just because I'm a black man and my great granddaddy was a slave but i'm still here. Fighting for the creativity. For the future of the world.
RS: Spoken like a president Kanye
KW:2020 my man 2020
RS: Well thank you so much for joining us and giving us your insight Kanye.
KW:Thank you for having me on.

  1. I found it very interesting how you code switches from a more formal style of speech to the way someone who uses slang to communicate within this interview. I found that is was well written and was reasonable factual
